2017 Fundraiser was HUGE Success!
Mid South Women in Tourism (MSWIT) had a record attendance at its Passport to Fashion Fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 9 resulting in over $15,000 raised to support the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans, The New Orleans Family Justice Center and the University of New Orleans.
The fundraiser was held at the Sheraton Metairie New Orleans Hotel and included speeches from each charity, a fashion show sponsored by Dillard’s and Tommy Bahama, as well as appearances by local leaders, Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, Former President of Jefferson Parish John Young, Louisiana State Representative Julie Stokes and Kenner City Councilman Dominic Impastato.
The inaugural MSWIT “Innovator of the Year” honor was awarded to the President and CEO of the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association (LTPA), Jill Kidder. Kidder touts over 35 years of hospitality and tourism experience in leading LTPA members to cutting edge marketing, advocacy and education efforts.
MSWIT also honored UNO Hotel Restaurant and Tourism Master’s student, Franziska Croeniger, with a $500.00 scholarship. Croeniger, a German native, was selected by a special committee after reviewing numerous applications.
