Willma Harvey

Willma Harvey began her career in tourism driven by a passion for storytelling, community pride, and creating meaningful experiences for visitors. Throughout her professional journey, she has held leadership positions with destination marketing organizations along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and in Louisiana.
Today, Willma serves as Director of Sales & Business Development for the River Parishes Tourist Commission, representing St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and St. James Parishes. In this role, she leads strategic sales initiatives, product development, and partnership engagement that drive visitation, generate economic impact, and elevate Louisiana’s River Parishes on a national and international stage.
Willma Harvey holds a master’s degree in English and is a highly qualified tourism professional with numerous industry certifications and recognitions. She is a Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME), Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP), Certified Tour Professional (CTP), Certified Travel Industry Specialist (CTIS), and Certified Student Travel Professional (CSTP). Willma is actively involved in both national and regional leadership roles and is recognized for her commitment to advocacy, education, and destination development.
Outside of work, Willma enjoys shopping and reading.
What Willma values most about being a member of Mid South Women in Tourism (MSWIT) is the genuine camaraderie, mentorship, and professional support among women who share a passion for the tourism industry. She appreciates MSWIT as a space that encourages leadership, collaboration, and the elevation of women’s voices across the travel and tourism landscape.
