NOMCVB Seeking Ambassadors for IPW

BE A TOURISM AMBASSADOR FOR 4 HOURS AND HELP WELCOME TRAVEL BUYERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD
New Orleans needs your help to welcome 1700 international travel buyers and journalists along with 4700 tourism industry leaders during IPW 2016, June 18 – 22. This event has been nicknamed the “Super Bowl of International Tourism”. Help us show our clients how welcome they truly are! The Convention and Visitors Bureau is looking for 500 ambassadors to assist with meet and greet, staffing hospitality desks and more. Volunteer with your friends, family or coworkers. Ambassadors will receive an IPW New Orleans Ambassador shirt to wear during their shift. Additionally, they will receive one entry for each shift they complete for a chance to win an IPad Air. The more shifts you work, the more chances you have to win. The following shifts are currently available.
AIRPORT MEET & GREET – Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19 Ambassadors are needed for a FOUR HOUR SHIFT. Shifts start at 8:30 am with the last one ending at 10:00 pm and more options in-between. Pick the shift that is right for you. Ambassador greeters will be stationed at strategic points throughout Louis Armstrong Airport. Duties are to meet, greet, direct and assist delegates to the proper baggage claim and transportation area. Ambassadors will be standing or walking throughout the shift. Parking will be complimentary with validation.
HOTEL HOSPITALITY DESK – Saturday, June 18 through Wednesday, June 22 Ambassadors are needed for TWO-FOUR HOUR SHIFTS. Shifts start at 8:00 am with the final shift ending at 7:30 pm. There is a number of shifts in-between. Pick the shift that is right for you. Ambassadors will staff a hospitality desk in the lobby of host hotels. Responsibilities include handing out New Orleans visitor brochures and maps, assisting with questions about the IPW schedule and assisting with general questions. Reference materials will be provided. A desk and chair will be provided at each location. This job involves mostly sitting. If you would like to work with a friend or colleague, please let us know and we can position two people at the desk during your shift.
SIGHTSEEING TOUR DEPARTURE ASSISTANCE – Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19 Ambassadors are needed from 10:00 am to 1:45 pm. Ambassadors will be assigned to work a FOUR HOUR SHIFT at the Morial Convention Center assisting tour companies, directing delegates to their tour bus and assist with loading each bus. Ambassadors will be standing or walking throughout the shift. Complimentary parking will be provided at the convention center with ambassador parking pass.
