Largay Travel

Jan Dressler is an Independent Luxury Travel Advisor with Largay Travel and has been in the travel industry for nearly 40 years. Throughout her career, she has worn many hats in the ever-evolving world of travel, building a reputation for expertise, leadership, and exceptional client service.

In the 1990s, Jan was an active member of the United States Jaycees Junior Chamber, earning both Ambassador and Senator status. The leadership skills she developed through community service provided a strong foundation for success in business and life.

One of Jan’s most memorable roles was managing the AAA USA National Reservation Center for the 1984 New Orleans World’s Fair, where she coordinated lodging reservations for visitors. She later transitioned to the travel agency side of the business, expanding her passion for creating memorable travel experiences. As a AAA tour director, she hosted Mardi Gras groups and escorted international tours. Guided by her Catholic faith, she also led two pilgrimages to Medjugorje, experiences she considers deeply meaningful.

After a brief break from travel to co-own Sew Smart Fabrics in Metairie with her husband and brother, Jan returned to the industry as manager of Great American Travel in Lakeside Mall for 10 years. Following the challenges of 9/11, she launched her own business as an Independent Travel Advisor, a role she has enjoyed successfully for more than 25 years.

Jan specializes in custom-curated independent travel, particularly throughout Europe, as well as luxury cruises. She believes a little piece of herself goes on every journey she plans. Her own passion for travel has taken her to more than 30 countries, a list that continues to grow now that her husband of 45 years, Gary, is retired.

A New Orleans native, Jan lives in Old Metairie with Gary and their cat, Breesy. She treasures time with her two grandchildren and serves as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at St. Catherine of Siena Church. She also enjoys entertaining, reading, photography, music, dining out, cooking, and participating in the Metairie Foodies Dinner Club.

A dedicated member of MSWIT for more than 30 years, Jan has served in numerous leadership roles, including President and Fundraiser Co-Chair. She is proud to have helped the organization grow into a thriving network of nearly 200 members that plays an important role in supporting both New Orleans tourism and women in the travel industry.  She values the individuality of the members and how they strive to consistently support one another!
