New Orleans A La Carde & Tours Bayou
For Pamela Pipes, New Orleans is more than a destination; it’s home, heritage, and the inspiration behind her entrepreneurial journey. A seventh-generation New Orleanian and serial entrepreneur, Pamela has built her businesses around helping visitors discover the city she loves and connecting them with the local businesses that make it unforgettable.
Her inspiration began in the 1980s with a simple conviction: she wanted to do something that was “bullish on New Orleans.” That belief became New Orleans A La Carde, a marketing and distribution business that helps visitors discover the area’s restaurants, attractions, tours, and experiences. Through print and digital promotion, Pamela connects the question “What should we do while we’re here?” with the businesses ready to welcome them.
Her enthusiasm for sharing New Orleans also extends to Tours Bayou, which creates self-guided audio tours. As a writer, producer, publisher, and tour guide, Pamela invites visitors to explore beyond the surface and experience the history, character, and local flavor of New Orleans and its surrounding communities. Her approach is personal: helping people discover the city through the perspective of someone whose roots run deep.
Pamela’s professional connections include Mid South Women in Tourism, SKAL New Orleans, and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, with which she remains involved in multiple capacities. She values opportunities to connect with fellow professionals who care about their businesses, their communities, and one another.
Outside of work, Pamela’s favorite pastime is easy to remember: “Fishing, and more fishing, and more fishing.” Whether sharing her hometown with visitors or spending time on the water, her enthusiasm comes through.
What does she appreciate most about MSWIT? Being in a room with professional women who offer camaraderie, meaningful networking, empathy, and compassion. For Pamela, the value lies in both the connections and the kindness behind them.
From championing local businesses to helping visitors find their own connection to the Crescent City, Pamela continues to turn her belief in New Orleans into an invitation for others to experience it.
