We encourage everyone to come in your favorite Halloween attire to add to the fun…but be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as there will be an after dark Destrehan Hauntings Tour that you don’t want to miss!
Our Ghostess with the Mostess hosts, Tracy Smith, Executive Director of Destrehan Plantation and MSWIT member Leslie Brewer, Director of Sales, have a wonderful spooky meal planned for us!

]]>Our March meeting is our annual all day bus fam tour where we experience things we have never done before in our neighboring back yards! This year MSWIT Member Carolyn Barrett, Executive Director of Visit Kenner, has an amazing itinerary for all of us to enjoy.
Tuesday, March 25th FAM Tour of Kenner
- 8:00am – Arrive at Pontchartrain Center for coffee and donuts before boarding the bus
- 8:30am departure – Carolyn will point out places of interest (Laketown, Coconut Beach (teambuilding ideas), Chateau Country Club (golf tournament opportunities) and a whole lot more!
- 9:30am – arrive at Rivertown, walking tour with guide to discuss the history of the
area. Backstage tour of Rivertown Theatre of the Performing Arts with Kelly Fouche. Tour of the
Kenner Planetarium and a laser show at the Mega Dome Cinema. - Lunch at Heritage Park catered by Gendusa’s Italian Eatery with a special “welcome” from city officials. Paint and take Art activity with Wrenworks Art Studio.
- 2:00 depart for Game On Social Hub
- 3:30 – depart for Treasure Chest Casino for beverages and appetizers.
Visit Kenner has arranged for a 56 passenger Hotard Coach to takes us around the great city of Kenner. So we are limited to the first 56 members to RSVP for the full day of educational fun.

Mr. Cresson will briefly talk to us about some of the initiatives the CCA is working on to maintain our coastline and marine environment across Louisiana.

]]>Our first MSWIT meeting for 2025 will be at the Teche Room adjacent to Mulate’s Restaurant facing Convention Center Blvd. (with paid parking directly across the street in lot in front of Riverwalk.) This special meeting will include our “biennial” Installation of our 2025-2026 Officers & Board (see detailed list below). Our MSWIT members with Mulates (Owner, Monique Boutte` Christina, General Manager, Tamie Comeaux, and Director of Sales, Chantelle Washington) have an awesome dinner planned for us!
To kick off on the right foot for 2025, our Speaker for the evening will be MSWIT Member and Work with Ease Coach, Danielle Detiege, who helps creative professional women take actionable steps to advance in their career while creating a success story that reflects their whole life and not just their career or family. Her brief talk to our group will be “3 Tips to Jump Start Your Year! From Resolution to Realized!”
Networking, Cash Bar begins at 5:30 pm; program starts promptly at 6:00 pm.
Parade of Prizes silent auction for 4 personally known California fire catastrophe families!
In lieu of our regular 50/50 raffle, we will have a mini Parade of Prizes auction to raise funds for 4 different families with small kids who Christy Dillard knows have lost everything in the horrific California fires. We will use the money we collect on ticket sales to purchase 4 Amazon gift cards and give one to each family. Christy’s close friend will be driving to California to bring donated clothes, diapers, household items, gift cards, etc. so we ask each member to bring anything they want to donate to these families to the meeting. We are also accepting any items members may want to bring for the silent auction — so think about any Christmas gift you received and really didn’t need or really don’t want! We will be happy to include on the silent auction table.
