June Meeting to be held at the Beauregard-Keyes House
Program…
Our next MSWIT networking meeting will be a reception-style gathering on June 25th at the historic Beauregard-Keyes House at 1113 Chartres St. MSWIT member Stacey Messina of Messina's Catering will have a dinner buffet for us and the Beauregard Keyes House will be supplying complimentary wine! Beauregard-Keyes staff members Annie Irvin and Lily Elkins as well as docents will be on hand to answer questions about the beautifully restored 19th century house. There will be a brief presentation on the storied past of this French Quarter treasurer that's been home to Frances Parkinson Keyes, author of Dinner at Antoines, Confederate General PGT Beauregard, wine merchant Corrado Giacona, who confronted the Sicilian "Black Hand" extortionists there, and other notables.
We suggest that you plan to come early as Kerri Donnelly, Director of Sales & Catering at the Hotel Provincial (just steps away at 1024 Chartres St.) will be offering MSWIT a complimentary glass of wine and a chance to see the hotel's newly renovated reception venue between 5-5:30 pm.
Parking…
The Hotel Provincial is graciously providing complimentary parking for up to 20 cars! That's why it's important to arrive early and car pool if possible. Residential parking and meters are offered in the blocks surrounding the Beauregard-Keyes House (located directly across from the Ursuline Convent). Also, the French Market Riverfront Parking lot is a few short blocks away and an easy walk up Ursulines Street once you are parked.
Door prize…
All attendees will have the chance to win a special package provided by the Hotel Provincial and the Beauregard-Keyes House…a one night's stay at the Hotel Provincial and tour tickets for two of the historic Beauregard-Keyes House!
Special thanks to MSWIT member and Beauregard-Keyes Board member Sandra Dartus for coordinating this fun event for us!
