Our next MSWIT dinner meeting takes place on Tuesday, October 22 at Felix’s on the Lakefront. Nadine Hoover and the culinary team at Felix’s will have a great buffet set up for us to enjoy.MSWIT Member Amy Kirk Duvoisin, Director of Marketing & Community Relations for Jefferson Performing Arts Society, will be our speaker for the evening wearing her other “hat” as President and Founder of Joan of Arc Project, LLC. Amy created the Joan of Arc Parade which falls each year on Joan’s Birthday, January 6. Amy’s story is about entrepreneurship and cultural tourism, taking advantage of the opportunity to combine history and fun in an authentic, non-commercial manner. While the Joan of Arc procession kicks off the Mardi Gras season, it’s not a typical parade. Throws are hand-made and every element has a story, from what people wear to the themes of the vignettes or groups within the parade. People now come in just for this event and it really showcases our French Heritage connection.
